only good thing would be that it was before we knew it. Still a pleasant day. I want to get this into the box for our evening collection. I wrote you this noon in response to the good letter that came today. I'll fix some supper, then work on the lawn. It rained all week-end so I could do nothing on it. Jake repaired some boxes for our kids. Fred called to tell me they were fixed. He was in fair spirits. He has some wild ideas on the war. They may be true, but I don't think he would get all 11 million men efficiently used, and he is critical of Britain. I never learned why his boy was classified 4F and I'll never ask, of course.
