3 nothing much I could do. I felt he deserved an answer and I feel Betty could put the brakes on the new guy and not be in such a hurry. I wish you had heard Betty and knew her like I do, and then read Chas. letter. I think you could have done a lot better in an answer. I am so glad and so grateful we found each other and are married and are happy. I think we can somehow beat all problems because we have each other in love. The war is enough without trouble like Betty and Chas have on their hands. I write that thought humbly, not with any smug or superior idea compared to them, or anyone else. Did I tell you Vernon Harger is a medical navy discharge? He has had rheumatic fever badly.
