get all their money's worth out of the insulation job they had done last year! I am home now after work. It is now official that the big four got a peace offer from Japan but no announcements will be made "until there is something to say": which is certainly to the point! I fear I didn't accomplish too much, but I did get some of my official jobs done today. We think it has been hard up to now, but trouble for countries will be large to rebuild and there won't be the unified feeling we get when we are in common danger. Maybe it will be a peaceful world in a few more days. Every day they fight while the negotiations go on is that many more boys lost needlessly. Even as an uninformed an inexperienced civilian I have a little imagination and like everybody else wish it were done. I'll never forget the things you said to me at Spartanburg about war and military service. You were brave and honest too. I'm waiting for us to have times again like we had then. I love you, laddie.
