WINTERSET, IOWA APRIL 19, 1943 Brat. Maybelle's father says mothballs in the eaves trough may help the pigeon situa- tion. He knows of someone who need them very effectively. Smitty says he knew Slim when he was a kid. In fact they grew up in the same neigborhood, and "Uncle Lou" is a very good friend of his parents. Sorry to be so brief, but I have one of those damnable head colds again. I just wanted to pass along the mothballs and let you know what a nice time I'd had this visit to C.R. It was so much more satis- factory all the way around than the trip last Fall. And it wasn't just because of Charles, so you can get that nasty little smirk off your puss. As always B.
