Lincoln, Nebraska Monday 6 March 1944 Dear Laurie, You can't imagine my delight at receiving your letter! It was so good to hear of you, and I was interested in every word! I entirely appreciate your lovely invita– tion, and my mouth waters to accept, (Oh. but I'd love it!!) but I'm afraid I can't come. I just hate to send this answer. For the thought of having a good visit with you is tempting, and it would be so very nice to see the others, too! It was dear of you to write me. Perhaps you know something of what I've been doing since June, 1938, (mercy! doesn't it seem long ago?)... David C. Cook Publishing House.
