SEABEES CAMP PARKS. CALIFORNIA 12 April 1944 Dear Frances, Haven't hear from you since I last wrote, which has been several weeks. I suppose you're as busy as usual. Had a letter from Lloyd last week. as it was written March 23 it made better time than usual. Of course he can't say much, as you well know, but it seems he is well and still with the prison camp. If you haven't already sent me my rubbers which I left, don't bother to do so now. Shortly after I wrote, we were required to buy everything needed to bring our seabags up to standard, i.e., so to pass inspection. We're civilized now and have to do things according to Hoyle. We've had several field reviews and inspections recently. Guess the new captain in charge has finally decided we will do. I can now better appreciate Jack Sprat's stories of Saturday inspections in the army.
