Mon nite [9-8-42] Dearest:- Got your letter today noon on the new paper and all it is alright to write on both sides of the paper nothing much new today. I went to the red cross this evening & paid back the $20. it is a long way up there when I got back another boy was in trouble & wanted me to go back to the red cross with him so I walked the distance again I helped him out so I didnt care. The Caryl boy just came down & wanted to know how I found things back in Iowa.
