Co.C 3rd PLATOON 31st INF.Trg.bro Camp Croft, SO.Carolina C.G Oct 4, 1942 Dear Lloyd:- At last, I'm getting around to answering your letter, but since I've seen you since the letter came, it doesn't seem so long. I suppose that Laura is there with you and we are glad she could go. I think she will get to see you quite often. We have had a touch of winter already. It covered a lot a week ago last Friday. It was the first time I ever remember snow falling in September. We had a killing frost but it has been warm for several days now. Things are about the same around town. Lots of boys have gone into the service and more being called
