Oct 21 1942 Sat. PM Dearest Love. We are having quite a time here the chow isn't as good as Camp Croft but is pretty good it is raining all the time you probly heard of the floods here. Our outfit is split up some Hahn is still in the same company. we are restricted to an area for a few days I don't think it will last long. Last nite some men came in from texas they took their training there 2 Iowa boys were in the bunch. This is a replacement center not a regular out fit yet. They call it a pool our next move will be a regular out fit we may ship out any time We are about 20 miles from D.C. and about the same from Boston It is 190 miles to N.Y. City I hope I get a chance to look over D.C. before we are shipped out.
