Oct 24 -'42
Dear Frances:
   Just a line. Ralph and I are planning on a trip to Iowa next week. Plan to leave here Tues. morning & will probably arrive home Thurs. night or Friday. A neighbor lady is going with us - wouldn't undertake the trip alone with Ralph. Her folks live in Sioux City.
   Don't see how we can possibly get to C.R. - & am wondering if you could make if home for a day or two - over the week-end possibly. 
   We do not plan to stay very long - not over a week at most. Think that's about as long as I can possibly corral Ralph. Do hope we won't worry Mama - we'll try to create as little commotion as possible. Bill is staying here to tend stock.
   This is our last chance for the duration, I suppose, & the folds are getting aged. 
   Have not heard from you but hope you are well & that Lloyd too is alright.
