Sun Nite Oct 25 1942 Dearest Sweetheart Am writing on my bunk it is cold in the barracks they don't even keep the men warm here. I'm on K.P. tomorrow may not be able to write tomorrow I sure would like to be with you on your birthday but this is the best I can do this time I still love you and think of you first always and don't ever think I will change If it wasn't for you I would be one of the meanest guys in the army I am mean enough to take care of myself among these daygos I think of you and it is much easier to be tough, if I get out of this ruckus I will be civilized again and live a normal life the way I would like to be. Love Lloyd
