136 2 eggs 1/2 cup buttermilk 3 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. salt date, walnut, or pecan halves in buttermilk. Sift together dry ingredients and stir in. Chill at least one hour. Drop by rounded tsp. about 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Center each with date, walnut, or pecan half. Bake in hot oven (400°) 10 min. or till just set. Cool slightly, remove from sheet.
