July 7 1935 Dear Mary, Thanks terrifically for the Hamlet outline. It is just precisely that I need: the paper is to be on the character of Hamlet, explaining all his actions and everything (Miss Sedgewick is nuts on psychology) so the outline is perfect. And thanks equally terrifically for the brownies - I think you quite outdid yourself on that batch; they were too too divine - and for the shirts and accessories, which came in very handy. Miss Stapleton's card is interesting. I should like to meet Norman, and I'd like to have you meet him for your own benefit - so why don't you just take the car and pop down to Iowa City, or if you are too scrupulous or conscientious or just plain screwy for that, you could certainly go when John arrives if that wouldn't be too late. But I think you ought to just go, and not by bus. That's nice about John and Phil - I hope they can stop off here for a minute on their way so I could get a glimpse of them. Please do not encourage Bunny [illegible] -
