3 bridge set which will serve as a tablecloth. There was quite a birthday party for Richard at the O's last night: caviar, marvellous ham, salads, etc. and two huge birthday cakes. The cakes were given by Father Daniel Murray, the most perfectly charming and handsome young priest you ever saw. It isn't often that I rave about priests, but he is really delightful, and not a day over 25. He is from Mt. Carmel - the place across the street. At the party there were the O's, Jo, Jean Allen (Bob's girl - she's very sweet and lovely), myself and Robert E Lee Beck, who is a pain in the neck. An old Spanish war buddy of Nevin's he parks at the Ocksneider's on every possible occasion. He wasn't invited to the pary but he came anyway. They used to like him but can't stand him anymore. He talks continuously and always about R. E. Lee Beck. I had a big argument with him last night but it didn't get anywhere. Bob quit the House of Schmidt Saturday - going to take a week off and then work for Nevin at a respectable increase in salary. Have not had much chance to go in swimming - lousy weather. The 4th was hot and so was yesterday - today is cold damp and
