4 rainy. Spent a quiet 4th. Joanne was here to dinner, then we went down to Ann's, where there were 500 sparklers for Richard - courtsey of Father Murray, who sent to Michigan City for them. He spends most of his time at the O's, although he lives in one of the most gorgeous homes in Chicago. I have been getting exercise, howeever - aside from my daily 4-mile trek. Bob and I go bicycle riding frequently, with Jean and some other girl. Speaking of bicycles, Betty is crazy to get one, and I thought it would be nice of you could possibly bring mine over with when you come - which I hope is soon. I haven't used it in years and don't expect again. I have explained its multitude of deficiencies to the O's, but they think it would be swell anyway. They have been so perfectly grand to me that I would like to do a little something for them. So think it over. I have not as yet looked around for a Middle English reader, but I will as soon as I get a little more time. Thanks for all the swell things you've been doing for me - I really appreciate it. And please play a lot of tennis (I'm glad I didn't bring the racquet - I know of no one with whom I could play) and please don't work too hard. I'm dying to see the play. Love and thanks to daddy. Love, Jody
