28 October, Saturday '39 Dear Dad and Mary - Thank you very much for the money - order, which I received on Wednesday. You can well imagine how much I appreciate this assistance since my only other source of income is the money I get for driving for Mrs. Rosewater (fantastic name!) which is about a dollar an afternoon. However - I hope that you will not have to continue to send me money for very much longer, because I have registered at the S. C. employment bureau and they are very busy in my behalf. If nothing better happens, I shall at least have a job for the Christmas season (from about the middle of November to Christmas day) at I. Magnin's. Also Mr. Krebs at RKO is trying very hard to get me into the publicity department there, but as I have said before, the big Jewish movie moguls are
