Friday 11/26/38 Dear Mary Now I really am disappointed in you: Why didn't you come? And what is all this business of not taking your Master's and all that - must I go on lecturing you for the rest of your life? Well, anyway, I shan't be up this week-end - too much work to do. About extroverts: I don't like them, at least not in very large doses. And I'm not disenchanted because I was never enchanted with anything. Nor am I influenced by the chatter of our psychotic friends, but I cannot help being influenced by my so-called mind which has been pounding away at a devastating rate these days with not too pleasant results. I have half a notion to do some graduate work here, if nothing develops in California. Rosalind may come here next semester - I wrote a six or seven page epistle to her mamma outlining the advantages. It would help my mental state considerably. I gave Scram your tome last Monday; now what am I supposed to do? - Do you want it back in a rush or anything -
