Columbia College LORAS HALL Duqbuque, Iowa 3 apartment yearns for her like nothing describable. Look, dear, we don't have her address, phone, or any imaginable means of communication with her (except telepathic, which I have already tried in vain) - so suppose you give us a hint. Ever since I've been home I have been urging Father in every way I know how to go away, but he absolutely refuses: he has finally convinced me that he just doesn't want to. So, ironically but characteristically enough, it is I who am taking the vacation - to Rochester for the week-end. It may sound selfish, like most of my tricks, but I am going absolutely nuts in this house without you around to amuse me, I am utterly sick of reading, even Babitt, I ought to be sick of listening to music, I have washed the car twice in as many days, there isn't anybody in Dbq I want to see and I am bored. Anyway Father approves - he says he wouldn't know what to do either if he were I. I will leave tomorrow afternoon & return Sunday afternoon or Monday morning - will still have a good long week in Dubuque. It's awfully hot even though it rains every two seconds.
