June, MONDAY, 3, 1861. We received news this eve that minors must get a Certificate from parents to go I shall go home to-morrow to get mine. I think I shall succeed. We drilled as usual to-day and has been warm TUESDAY, 4. I went home and got my leave of Father to go to war There is great rejoicing at the boys as they get leave. I received two dollars from Shepard, one dollar & 45 cts more. WEDNESDAY, 5. We did not drill to-day. the Capt. being absent, we had a day of leisure. Lieut. Col. Ruger arrived here to-night he came to muster us into service he says we will to go to Fon du Lac and thence to Wash. We drilled this evening
