Sachet powders, &c Violet Powder-- 2 lbs of powdered orris-root, 6lbs of wheat starch, mix thoroughly + add 1/4 oz attar of lemon + 1 drachm each of attar of bergamont & attar of cloves. Powderd Iris- Mix thoroughly 3 lbs orris-root, 1lb starch, 2 oz each of powdered bergamot peel + accacia flowers, 1/8 oz of powdered cloves. Heliotrope powder - Thoroughly mix 2 lbs of powdered orris-root, 1 lb wheat starch, 1 lb ground rose-leaves, 1/2 lb ground ginko leaves, 1/4 lb ground vanilla beans, 1/4 oz of grain musk & 5 drops of attar of almonds. Sultana. 1 oz each of coriander, orris-root, rose-leaves, & aromatic calamus, 10 oz lavender flowers, 1/4 drachm Snidium 5 grains musk. Mix all well together & reduce to a coarse powder. This is very fine. Pot Pourri. 1 lb dried lavender, 1 lb whole rose leaves, 1/2 lb of coarsely cracked orris, two of each of broken cloves, cinnamon & allspice, 1 lb of dry table salt.
