Lemon Pie. (Mary Larson) Grated rind & juice of 2 lemons, yolks of three eggs, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 table spoon flour, 1/2 cup sugar, butter size of hickory nut, 1 cup water, boil in double boiler, put in crust previously baked, when cold cover with meringue made of 3 beaten whites, pinch salt, & two table spoons sugar. Mrs Perry's Molasses cake. 1 cup molasses, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup warm coffee with a level teaspoon sodas, dissolved in it 1 cup currants or raisins 1 teaspoon level full each of cinnamon, cloves, & alspice, a little nutmeg or vanilla, or a teaspoon full of ginger 2 tablespoons heaping full of lard, pinch of salt, about 2 1/2 cups of flour, or enough for a soft batter. Mrs. Lemms' Devil's Food, 2 cups brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup warm water 1/4 cup chocolate 3 cups flour, 3 eggs, 1 teaspoon soda dissolved in cream.
