186 To take ink from any white fabric, throw salt & pepper over it in abundance - all trace of the ink will disappear. Soak the stained part in milk & the stains will be removed. Where furniture is greasy from fingermarks, use turpentine & linseed oil. For rubbing furniture use pure sweet (olive) oil. To cleanse straw matting. Dip a coarse cloth in salt water & wipe dry. The salt prevents the matting from turning yellow.
