A teaspoon of warm wood ashes - put once a week upon the earth is helpful - also of soot around asters & plants troubled with grasshoppers. Borax water is good for bites of mosquitoes & other insects. To remove mildew use bar soap & powdered chalk - wet the cloth - put on the mixture & set in the sun. To remove proud flesh - use scraped horn or burnt alum or rosin. To stop bleeding use fine dust of tea A bit of glue dissolved in skim milk & water will restore old crape.
