Sun June 4 [1944] Slim: Got your letter yesterday sure am glad to hear from you in fact you're are the only one I look for in the mail its the first thing I look to see Am plowing corn now & the Ground sure is hard just got done planting the first had a lot of wet holes this year. Sure is good picture of you & you sure look good don't look as if you were hungry. Am going to get my teeth the end of the week then Steak look out.
