Aug 11th 1864 Thursday morning we was routed up at 3 AM in the morning to get our breackfast and be ready to march at day break for Fort Bunkerhill some 6 miles East to do fateuge work we got out at 9 AM and stacked arms and drawed axes to cut some small growth timber down out side of the forts one thousand yards
