Aug 29th 1864 Monday morning was cool and pleasant. The cavalry went out and fought the rebels all day with the 8th Corps of Infan and in the afternoon the 6th A C went out to the front and the Caval fell back to try to decoy the rebels in but they fell back as our men advanced
