Sep 7th 1864 Wednesday morning opened up a bright and clear and all appeared lively We was ready at 7 1/2 A.M. and went down to had quarters but was discharged and sent back up to our quarters again. We got orders about 10 AM to be in camp and ready at a moments notice if called on. There was some of our forces out a trying the strength of the Rebels force but all was quiet
