Sept 12th 1864 Monday morning was clear and pleasant nothing of any importance to day I got a letter No July 28th from home today. we had dress perrade in the evening at 5 PM and the orders read on perrade was to drill 2 hours every day hereafter while in camp here and dress perrade in the evening at 5 PM. The cav took the 8th South Cor Tigers Infan 16 officers 156 privates the whole Regt they were 6 very ragged and dirty
