Sept 22nd 1864 Thursday morning was pleasant and warm. At half past 6 AM we moved off to the right something near two miles and formed a line of battle and fortified but about 2 PM our regt was moved down to the 19th A. C. headquarters in the course of an hour we was moved to the front to the heighth that our forces took possession of at noon by storm we then comenced throwing up breastworks for an hour at which time the orders
