came for our regt to form in a strong skirmish line on the right of the 22 Iowa and advance the support followed us close-by and we took all the rebels works Artilery and a good many small arms and amunition with quite a number of prisoners after we took all their works our regt went back to where we started from to get our knapsacks and staid their for the night we got orders to be ready to march next morning at 1 A.M. this is called strawsburg or Chester Gap or a spur of the blue ridge or Fishers hill battle
