A vertical section through a young cup, PL. VI. fig. 1. shows that it is contracted near the base, and rather abruptly expanded cup-shaped above. The margin of the cup is nearly transparent and minutely denticulate fringed. The base of the cup is occupied by one celled club-shaped papillae, PL.VI. fig b.
