3 Science is a systematic arrangement of facts. Then is is scientific to deal with facts. Leave theory to the more speculative mind. We propose in these few pages facts, of more or less interest gained by general observation and also by the aid of the microscope in reference to Indian Corn (Zea Mays) In our remarks we will use the word [underlined] corn [/underlined] simply as there will be no need of mistaking the grain meant. In some parts of the civilized country [underlined] corn [/underlined] may mean almost any of the cereals but such is not the case in the United States.
