that the war will end this year. Oh wont there be one grand rejoicing when our boys come home? It must be very depressing for you when you find the Iowa boys among the numbers that have made the last great sacrifice, I think we realize more that we are in war when it comes as near home as school mates but I dont believe the average person the the US half realizes that our boys are making heroic sacrifice when they go into the army but look upon it as sort of a holiday affair. And they will not until our first cripples come back. I must stop now my dear, write me again when you have time, remember Im praying all the time for your safe return and that I love, like my very own Mother We are planning to go to C.R. some time in Aug I dont know if D has told you yet.
