ill luck. Ed is coming after me about Friday and take me out to his farm. He has a whopper, and it will sure be a paying proposition this year. But he cusses it every other breath he draws because it has kept him from enlisting. He wants to get in to the army as soon as his crops are all in, but he'll leave an old father and mother all alone when he leaves here. His brothers & sisters are all married and on farms of their own. He's a great big fighting Irishman and should make a splendid soldier. You asked what I had done with your letters. Did you think that if I had saved the ones you wrote to me several years ago that I'd destroy the ones you write now? It's different with you.
