soldiers would rise in his seat and, while a hush was on the room, sing the verses of one of their charming songs. The whole room would join in on a crashing chorus. Then another soloist would do his bit. We wanted to stay much longer than the repairing process permitted. The only other incident of the trip worth noting happened when we saw a rocket flash in the sky, and stopping our machine, made out several aeroplanes, probably British, winging their way to Germany to give the Huns a taste of their own kind of warfare. A little later two planes came from the opposite direction. Kenamore listened to their motors and decided they were Huns, so we shut off our engine and lights and stopped in the shade of a tree until they had passed.
