Whether they really were enemy machines I don't know. It was very late when we pulled into our town and I lost no time tumbling into bed. I wanted to write to you but my eyes were so nearly shut I knew I couldn't. The best my sleepy head could do was to take notice of the new posies on your shrine and to remember you with a good night to the picture. Now I must go into action on the day's work. Remember honey. I love you desperately. How much I long for the day when I shall have no new tales of adventure to tell you because we shall be doing everything together! Remember me to the mater. Your very loving Husband Conger Reynolds 2nd Lt A.G.D.
