Would that I could remember what I wrote on April 23 to bring upon me your crool charge that I was drunk when I wrote it. How dare you woman? Don't you know that I don't get drunk? I think the yellow flower you ask about was a "button of gold," as the French call it. Whether it is the same thing as a cowslip I can't say, but if it is I stick to the French name as being more aesthetic and appropriate. You surely were having 'ell with your teeth when you wrote the letters I have now. I hope that is long past. If it isn't I'll have to come home to see that you get 'em fixed so you won't have to be taking dope. I warn
