However, the German prisoners say the war must end this fall.  I'll agree to that, providing they'll can the kaiser and all his rotten crowd and give back everything they've stolen, including the loot we can see them carrying away these days from the villages they recently occupied on the other side of the Marne.  How despicable life would be under their domination!
As little souvenirs of France I shall stick in this letter a ten-cent paper bill and a ticket du pain of the brands I use.  They're good for what they stand for.  If you don't believe me see if you can't by a chocolate ice cream soda with the dime and a bun (a bread bun) with the ticket. 
How do you like me when I'm flippant and insubordinate, honey?  Could you give me just a teeny-weeny little kiss anyway?
Afterward I'll be a nice boy.
