shipped for France two weeks ago last Sunday, and Father and Mother were there to smile him off, and I am so glad and proud to think that they could. My, I hope that he and Conger may meet soon. He was acting Lieut. Col. in command of more than eight hundred men. He sailed from Newport News. We have had no word from him yet, but expect a cable soon. Daddy came home last week, but Mother is with friends in Chicago.
