Ninety and nine June 15, 1918 Beautiful, I reckon this will have to be a love letter. For several minutes I have been trying to think whether there was anything in today's events to write about, and I have concluded there was not. It was a very quiet day. Calm has settled on all the battle front, and we look for nothing much to happen for a week or two. Lieutenant Hartzell and I took a walk this afternoon along the river where all was peaceful. The fishermen were having a good time yanking out very small fish. We enjoyed watching one very expert fellow who was catching them almost as fast as he could toss out his line. Along the wall on the bank was the largest gallery of on-lookers I ever saw a fisherman have. The gallery was having as much fun watching him as he was catching the fish, and it was evident he was enjoying his position in the center of attention. It was charmingly
