might improve if the quantity were less.  You are getting verbal snapshots of me; I write so often that the impressions I put down are the immediate and impulsive ones.  If you ever tire of that sort of thing and want to know what I'm like after I have had time to crystallize ideas we'll try a slower speed.
This is Sunday and, aside from the fact that the war is still going on, very peaceful.  Hartzell and I have just put away a moderately good lunch from the serving of the Duke's hotel.  He is stretched on his bed reading Daudet stories while I write.  Downstairs Madamoiselle is pleasantly tinkering with the piano.  I don't know what she is playing; it sounds like Tycobbski or Rubicon.  You, of course, know their works?
I feel comfortably fatigue' from the long walk we took this morning.  Rather aimlessly we went north out of town through the little truck farms and then along a country road
