I form all kinds of wild plans. It is easy to do when our future is so indefinite. Some day when some hope of peace begins to appear I'll formulate some of them and ask you what you think of them. Last evening we had a concert downstairs. Mademoiselle, Lieutenant Hartzell, and the French Lieutenant played. The Frenchman was good. He has long, hard hitting fingers which he certainly knows how to use on the keys. I wished for you to put real class into the program except for the fact that I knew the piano, being out of tune, would spoil things for you. I understand that the mail is delayed again because the government is too busy hauling ammunition and supplies to carry it just now. For a cause like
