102 June 20, 1918. Daphne, dear, -- Here I am back at my old station at N--! Another unexpected order has brought me back. It came yesterday morning at 9 o'clock and an hour later I had assembled my belongings at M-- and started back. With me were Lieutenant Mangan, who had come to M-- (almost spilled the beans) only a few days before, and two correspondents. The trip by automobile took us about seven hours of diving - all of which was delightful, even the miles we drove in a rainstorm. It was good to get back. I have settled down to this business enough that I don't care much where I am, but it was something like getting home. Martine had a fit of joy over my return and Mangan's. We are her best loved "enfants," and it was a revival of former happy days in the house (In margin) I noticed I'm back!
