103 June 21, 1918. Ma belle femme, - Again I have a home. When I was away my old billet had been taken by someone else. Last night and the night before I slept in rooms of other officers. Then today I got my room in our press section house. It had been occupied by Colonel McCabe. He has gone to G. H. Q. for station - and I have his room. It is a good room, in most respects the most elegant I have had. Dimensions about 16' by 18' with a high ceiling. The bed fits into a niche in the northeast corner like this: [sketch in a rectangular box. upper part of rectangle shows curtain like hangings. Lower part of rectangle shows bed and short structures to the left an right] Notice the hangings. My two windows open out on the court to the south, and the sun pours through them each day. Inside they are canopied and hung with heavy curtains. The furniture - bed, table, and the desk at which I am writing are heavy mahogany ornamented by copper bronze bands about the
