June 27, 1918 Conger dearest,- I haven't had a letter from you in a hundred years. Not since the bunch of them followed me to Rich Hill - and I'm about ready to strike. I've neglected you for two or three days too, but the whole trouble is that I am up to my eyes in the Sammy Backers again. This Methodist Preacher man got me into it, and I've been having rehearsal morning, afternoon and evening. It is funny to be working with the little brats I used to know as infants. And the worst job of all is finding out that "Mrs Orville Benson doesn't speak to Mrs. Wright." If this had happened at Cottey, I'd have taken the offenders by the ear and made them speak, but this isn't Cottey. It's a job to shake of my bossy school teacher ways. There are two girls in my dancers who wont speak so I am putting them together at every chance. Last night
