Minority Coalition Some of you heard of the Minority Coalition (Min. Co.) and probably do not fully understand its purpose. To begin Minority Coalition is a banding together of organizations such as NAACP and I.UI.AC whos aims are to work for the betterment of the black and Chicano (Mexican-American) Communities and the Welfare Rights Organizations and Catholic Social Action whose purpose is that of bettering disadvantaged people regardless of their color etc. Now black and brown people who are discriminated against intentionally or unintentionally by the power structure as well as poor disadvantage whites which would even include most senior citizens have one thing in common, that is political strength to comandeer the attention of the power structure to the social needs. Each of these disadvantaged or powerless groups (are a political minority when pitted against the power structure) therefore they can be a judged regarless of their color etc. as a minority group. If they are banded together their alone give them more strength to deal with the power structure for attention to their needs. The power structure (financial institutions, manufacturing firms, businesses, and city administrators) because of an interrelated dependence upon each other are tied together in a coalition to protect and further their interests.
