Introduction The author has for some years recognized the need of telling the story of the Mexican people of Davenport, Iowa and the Quad-City area. The lack of knowledge second and third generation Mexican Americans of the social historical development of their parents and grandparents in the country and also of his Mexican heritage which greatly influences and distinguishes some of their family and [?] patterns. There is a growing need of understanding the Mexican people in order for public and private agencies to develop meaningful programs to meet the social needs to this second largest ethnic minority group.
