-2- Tentative Agenda for LA RAZA UNIDA ISSUES CONFERENCE THE LA RAZA UNIDA ISSUES CONFERENCE will take place at St. Ambrose College, Davenport, Iowa, on June 5, 1971. Registration shall be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with the opening session beginning promptly at ten o' clock. The conference activities are expected to be over at 5:00 p.m. or shortly thereafter. A "Social Hour" (probably quite a few hours!) is planned for the evening preceding the conference. The Guest of Honor, who will address the conference, is Miguel Barragan. A former parish priest and the son of a Mexican-American migrant family, Mr. Barragan has written numerous songs for the Chicano Movement and is a well-known lecturer and entertainer on college campuses and in barrio communities throughout the United States. At present he is a staff member for the Southwest Council of La Raza in Phoenix, Arizona. Following the morning session, various workshops are scheduled throughout the afternoon. Intent on probing into, and finding cures for, the numerous problems which plague the Mexican-American communities, the workshops will be as follows: EDUCATION Frank Soriano LAW ENFORCEMENT Jose Juarez RELIGION Rev.
