ever, perhaps Ashley and Tucker can needle the gang into continued action, despite so many ill fates that the wind, etkuh. My own personal world is falling apart, just the same, for now my two most personal buddies, Ev Wyers and Tom Wright, the double-youse, are getting ready to muster fight with the forces of that uncle with the beard. Beyond This Horizon, who can tell? I cannot, for Tom is to reveal the most amazing of Robert A. Heinlein's stronghold of pen-names, the last of them. But I'll elucidate just to that point, then read the "Wright Idea" in Toward Tomorrow: Bob Heinlein has written under all of these-- Anson McDonald, Lyle Monroe, Colin Keith, Caleb Saunders. ---finis.... WINDY CITY WAMPIRE MEETING OF JAN 9th and 10th -- By Walt Liebscher Saturday night, Frank Robinson, Niel DeJack, Walt Kubilius, Joe Mayhew (non-fan), and I went to the home of Howard Funk, home from the Army on furlough. We spent about three hours fanbagging (ah, pardon, fangabbing) about books, fantasy movies, etc. 'Twas nice to see Howard again. He is stationed at Oakland, California. Sometime during the evening, I happened to remember that Joe Fortier lives in Oakland, and I gave Howard his address so he could look him up. After the fangab we went bowling, as we are wont to do in the wee small hours of Sunday morning. The less said about the scores the better as we were all fagged. Sunday afternoon we went to the "Studio", Chicago's unusual Movie Theatre, and saw "Rama", the story of a white man who was stranded on an uninhabited isle, and how he made his living, and how he stole a native girl, and how they had babies, and how they made love, and how he decided to stay on the island. (I would've stayed, too!) "Bo-ru", the story of a boy raised by apes, then raised by a tribe of Arabs, and the events which led to his being chosen ruler of the tribe. "Strange People", scenes showing unusual natives such as the big-lipped Ubangis and scar beautied nannibals. The next attraction at this theater will be "Rasputin", with Harry Bauer as the star, and "The Phantom Fiend", based on the story "The Lodger"-- which, by the way, should be read by all fans. This story is out in the pocketbook edition. But the bestest thing of all about going to the Studio was the fact that we learned they are going to show "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" and "The Secrets of a Soul", two of the best fantasy movies ever made.
