SPACEWAYS 25 ADVERTISEMENTS DO YOU WANT TO GO TO THE NYCON? Yes, I know it happened in 1939—and this is 1942. No, I haven't a time machine—but then again, maybe I have. No, I am not haywire. I have a sort of time machine. How does it work? Well, here are the facts: I was there, you know, and saw everything. Yes, I even helped some in the arrangements. Of course, all the work w̲a̲s̲ done by the three—but I saw every- thing—was in most every Nycon meeting—knew their plans as well as they did—so I decided to give you the facts; all the facts supplemented by fotos. And I do mean fotos—25 of them—all picked from the top-notch collections of fotos in the fantasy field. You want to know what happened and who was there. Well, here's your chance now. Subscribe to the Nycon book now. It's all ready: price only 50c now. You don't think it's worth it? That's a laugh! --why,, the 50c doesn't even pay for the fotos! You still want to know whose pictures are in the booklet. Well, O.K., here's a p̲a̲r̲t̲i̲a̲l̲ list:—Wollheim, Madle, Wilson, Moskowitz, Kyle. Burford, Kline, Long, Swisher, Binder, de Camp: Clark, Wellman, Phillips, Ruppert, Wylie, Kornbluth, Giunta, Kuslan, 4SJ , Morojo, Bradbury, Korshak, Reinsberg, Darrow; Weisinger, Margulies, Paul, Pohl, Perri, Hamilton, Sykora, Speer, Rothman, Julius Schwartz, Blatt, Robert Thompson, Sandberg. Gillespie, Taurusi , Train, Baltadonis, Hart, Tarr, Hornig, Lowndes, Van Houten, Michel, Rocklynne, Williamson, Campbell, and many, many others. Yes, there're pics of the various conferences before the Nycon, complete with writeups too, and we even included the Futurian meeting of July 6, 1939. Who did the writeup? Well, we thought it was too big a job for one man, so I got hold of Moskowitz, Taurasi, Houten, Lowndes, Michel, and Wollheim, and put them to work. Yes, I know it was quite a job, but I thought the result worth it. You will too. Oh, yes—the cover. It was silk-screened by John Michel from a sketch done by fandom's newest artist, damon knight. The pictures were done by Joseph Christoff, and a really swell job he did, too. Well, there you are, folks—that's all I can tell you. Price: 50c from Julius Unger 1702 Dahili Road Brooklyn, N. Y.
